They grow wild in the united states. They look and taste just like black

berries, but are smaller and grown on ground vines, where blackberries are

bigger and grow on upright canes, when bloom about a month later.

Been gone ALL day.....glad to be home. I didn't see the original post but I

think I can answer this question for you. In Texas, we have patches of

dewberries that grow wild on roadsides and here and there. We have a huge

patch right across the road from our house and other patches around out

property. A Texas dewberry is a wild blackberry. They tastes just about the

same...not quite as sweet and not nearly as large as a domestic blackberry and

there are more seeds because they are smaller. But, if you have a device or a

small strainer to strain the seeds out, they make WONDERFUL blackberry jam or

jelly and not too bad of a cobbler, if you don't mind the seeds. I have been

picking them all of my life.
