Guest guest
I love Almond Breeze Almond Milk. I recently saw Silk brand Almond Milk and bought some. I don't like it nearly as well, but maybe that is just my taste buds, however I do LOVE Silk brand Soy Milk. Judy

Guest guest
I keep getting coupons for Silk almond milk on my grocery receipts - I like it fine, though I prefer original over vanilla. With the coupon, it is cheaper than Almond Breeze, which is my favorite brand. Audrey On 5/13/10, wwjd <jtwigg wrote: > I love Almond Breeze Almond Milk. Guest guest
I love the Almond breeze vanilla on cereal...haven't tried the Silk almond milk yet (I, too, like their soy milks). Guest guest
How are the non-milks like almond and such on carbs? Since pancreatitis my hypoglycemia has been on a hair trigger and it doesn't take much in the way of carbs (even 2 biscuits of Shredded Wheat) to put me into rebound hypoglycemia. I can eat the shredded wheat (the one with just wheat, no sugar) plain but sometimes it would be nice in a bowl with milk. Sigh. I wasn't keen on the soy milk stuff. Guest guest
You're in luck. :^) I just bought six half gallons of Almond Breeze last night, 2 of each of the varieties I list below. The vanilla unsweetened is 2 grams total carbs per 8 ounce glass. This is the one I will drink straight or on my cereal. Delish! It has 40 calories per glass. The sweetened vanilla, obviously, has more carbs at 16 (90 calories) and the chocolate the most at 22 (120 calories). Almond Breeze does also have another option, which is " original " that I did not buy. It is 60 calories, but I don't know the carb count. Hope this helps. Guest guest
Ginger, that is perfect, thank you! I can handle 2 carbs without going into rebound hypoglycemia. (It went down to 23 in the hospital - rather shocked everyone, lol) I can't wait to go get some at the store in a little bit. Hot diggity, cold cereal with milk again! Well, sort of milk, lol. Guest guest
But so much BETTER than (cow's) milk (IMHO)! Jann Jeanne B <treazured wrote: Hot diggity, cold cereal with milk again! Well, sort of milk, lol.
Guest guest
Jeanne: You can get the almond milks in the sweetened or unsweetened varieties, in both vanilla and chocolate. Most of the time he just gets a banana and a box of vanilla wafers and eats a bite of banana then a cookie, then banana. I'm not wild about sicky sweet, so I bet the plain stuff would be good. I wonder if there is a strawberry flavor soy milk. I might even drink that. I found a milk maker for nuts and soy beans, so if I like this and can find a way to make soy milk that I'll drink, it would be a good investment. (Not as good as my Excalibur 9 tray dehydrator, though! I love that thing.) Thanks for the input! Wasting food makes me go bonkers so I'd end up drinking it just so I wouldn't waste it, lol. Guest guest
Jeanne I just bought some almond milk (vanilla ) and it was too sweet for me.. It tasted like banana pudding. Had 15 carbs, and 16 sugars in it. I do enjoy the soy milk ( plain kind) only. Vera

Guest guest
Almond Breeze original unsweetened is my favorite. Not too sweet, so I can cook with it, too. Guest guest
This is great! We get milk from a friends with a farm but there comes a time when the cows need a break so now there's an alternative for us. I told Carl (husband person) about it and he said we'd have to just finish off the last of the milk from Bess (cow), so he got a huge bowl of cereal. All I had to do was tell him there was chocolate and vanilla, lol!!! Jeanne in GA " I want death to find me planting my cabbages. Guest guest
Jeanne I bought a SoyQuick Premier milk maker which I use for making almond/hazel nut milk. It tastes great and it works out much cheaper than buying almond milk, which is very expensive over here in the UK. I don't bother adding any sweeteners or other flavours to it, although that would be an option. Christie
