You keep up the kitchen fun. Most people will hang up the apron when they have

disasters and say, I can't cook or baking isn't for me. Practice makes perfect.

You have to have a strong will and enjoy the kitchen and all it has to offer.

I can make my banana bread with my eyes shut. I had a horrible batch turn out

last week, the birds loved it. I thought I was making a double batch at the end

of all my baking for the day and I measured everything for a single batch but

added an extra 2 cups of mashed bananas. LOL so I still have a disaster now and

then too.

Oh by the way I was not laughing at the time it happened.

This is funny now but not at the time, years ago I reached across the flaming

burner and burned my left breast, I had to smash the pan lid on the burning

T-shirt to get the fire stopped, so you have to be very careful too. I still

peel my finger with the potato peeler,

Oh, that burn must have really hurt! :( Glad to hear the birds enjoyed

the extra-gooey banana bread!

I'm still annoyed about losing my half-baked pumpkin cake all over the

inside of the oven door - I got rid of that darned silicone bundt pan

as soon as I could! I am glad that it didn't spill inside of the oven,

though, as that would have been harder to clean up. One Thanksgiving,

Mom put the salt in the pumpkin pie - twice! She did have extra

pumpkin, though, and was able to make another - but boy was that first

bite a surprise! :) Reading about others' kitchen disasters gives me

hope - if really good cooks can screw up, I am less hard on myself :)
