Guest guest
Does anyone know what a moonberry is? My friend is Vietnamese and she gave me a bunch. They are very dark, stained my hands, look like mini blackberries and baked up wonderfully in sweet bread. I have never seen these and I couldn't find them on Google. Guest guest
My wife's family is chinese. I've not heard of " moonberry " . If it is native to Asia, could be the yangmei. But, these are red and a bit tart. These are tropical and kind of look like round red rasberries and can be dark to a purple color. If it's a nickname, could be anything. You might try this page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_culinary_fruits And see what you find.
