Guest guest
Ok ya'll. I've tried to drink soy milk in the past...all of the flavors just don't compare to cow's milk or goat's milk. I'm an avid skim milk drinker and go through a few gallons a week by my self. After my disadventures into soy milk, I've decided other kinds of milk were not for my palet. How does rice milk compare to cow's milk, particularlly skim milk? I can not drink whole milk anymore due to the fat content being too high and making me sick. Too much fat really upsets my digestive system, so I stay away from greasey foods and high fat foods as well. I can tolerate cheese, but whole milk is just so not skim. I can taste the butter. Thanks for the suggestions. Dena in GA
Guest guest
Hi Dena, I was in the same boat as you with milk and fat and stomach issues, etc....didn't like any of the substitutes because they are not anywhere close to whole milk and most of them are sickeningly sweet. I've finally found one that tastes fairly rich and isn't sweet while also having a very pleasant mild taste...Blue Diamond's Almond Breeze Original Unsweetened. One cup of it has 40 calories and only 5% of the total daily quota of fat (but no saturated fat) and it doesn't upset my stomach. I found it at Fred Meyer. I'm sure there are other places too. Some of the stores around my town have that brand, but not the unsweetened, so you have to look closely. Good thing there are so many choices for us to choose from. Best of luck finding the right one for you. Nancy

Guest guest
I was using soy then almond and now I use hem p milk. I seem to like this one the best. It's a little pricey but well worth it. Jeff
Guest guest
I've tried several of the " other " milks. Can't do soy. Tried the flavored rice milk and the flavors were too strong. Love all the nut milks (unsweetened) but they are quite flavorful. My " everyday " milk is now the Original Rice milk. I don't drink glasses of milk but it probably would be of similar consistency as skim milk. I mostly use it for cereals, etc. --- On Mon, 9/14/09, Dena Deen <tigriss007 wrote: Dena Deen <tigriss007 The Taste of Other Types of Milk Monday, September 14, 2009, 7:48 PM Ok ya'll.
