You can find ladyfingers at an Italian deli and you can also call ahead to different markets but they are hard to find. Now and then I will run into then, I have seen them in the produce area by strawberries, same place I see the shortcake cups, oh those will work too. And a pound cake is a lot easier to make than homemade Lady- fingers. It all, once again, boils down to how authentic you want to get in making the dessert and if you have ever had it made with Ladyfingers or not. Personally I LOVE pound cake.....it is my very favorite cake, but I still like real Ladyfingers in " real " tiramisu. We live " out in the boonies " so there are many times when I have to make something homemade that is an ingredient in some dish I want to make. I don't mind making whatever it is myself most of the time.....but, then, I have spent most of my adult life NOT having a grocery store close by and where most specialty items are in stores that are anywhere from 30 to 45 miles away. One of the reasons most of my daughters like living in larger, more metropolitan areas then where they grew up. Me? I am kind of stuck here so have learned to make all kinds of interesting foods myself. Call around......you might be able to find some easier than you think. Nancy C.
