Guest guest
Does anyone have a favorite Rosh Hashanah vegetarian tsimmes recipe that they would like to share? Preferably not too much fat? I just did the following and have no idea how it will turn out: 3 carrots, cut in 2 inch chunks. 3 sweet potatoes, cut in 2 inch chunks Organic applesauce 1/2 cup pitted prunes, sliced 1 tbsp honey diluted in 1/2 cup water Sprinkled cinammon and nutmeg over the top Bake in 350 degree oven until it looks done (45 mins - 1 hr?) Guest guest
This one, from Mollie Katzen's Still Life with Menu, is very easy and very good. (It tastes more complex than the recipe sounds, honest!) Happy new year! Peace, Mo Pear and Prune Tsimmes 10 ripe d'Anjou pears (or other juicy pear) 1 lb pitted prunes 4 tablespoons fresh lemon juice 2 tablespoons honey (I sub agave nectar) cinnamon Preheat oven to 350. Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan. Peel & slice the pears. Halve the prunes. Spread the pear slices in the prepared pan, and place the prunes on top. Drizzle with lemon juice and honey (or agave) & sprinkle liberally with cinnamon. Bake covered for 30 minutes and uncovered for another 20. Serve hot or warm, as a side dish. (Can be assembled up to a day before it is baked and served. Cover tightly and refrigerate.) hayarubin wrote: > Does anyone have a favorite Rosh Hashanah vegetarian tsimmes recipe that they would like to share?
