Guest guest
I'm hoping my convoluted description of this cookbook will ring a bell with someone -- and I can then find it to buy it on Amazon or another website! About 2 years ago, I got a cookbook from the public library and I can't find it now, at the library or anywhere else. I can't remember the name or the author's name!! The copy I borrowed was paperback, and it had a very colorful cover with all kinds of vegetables in the background, then a white square in the middle showing the name and author's name. It is a mediterranean / middle eastern vegetarian cookbook, and the author is a Syrian lady who now lives in the US. From notes in the book, I remember that she worked in the US at one time as a nutritionist for a government agency, dealing with welfare and food stamp recipients, because she notes that Americans didn't seem to understand that you don't have to be able to afford meat to get protein into your diet, and that she had to explain to a lot of people about beans and rice! I made several recipes from this book, but can't find where I copied them out. The best recipe was for dolmas, which were really complicated to make (and I burned the bottom layer of them) but good. Thanks! Audrey
Guest guest
Audrey consider these two cookbooks, maybe one is the one you are asking about. They are wonderful books; From A Traditional Greek Kitchen by Aphrodite Polemia And From The Tables Of Lebanon by Dalal.
