Any sharpness can be masked depending on how you cook your brussel sprouts. I sometimes steam them in a wok and then add a dash of oil and soy sauce. At other times I might simply serve them in a strong cheddar cheese sauce - and entire meal on its own that gets devoured by anyone who comes near.
