Guest guest
And I believe in the U.K and Australia they call cookies as biscuits. My Gran called baking soda as bicarbonate soda and my Swedish cookbooks often have it worded the same. Guest guest
My children's nanny and I were just talking about this. She is Philipino who worked in Hong Kong so has the British influence. There are quite a few items that we use different terms for. For example I call it a scallion whereas she calls it a spring onion; zucchini versus courgette; eggplant versus aubergine; etc. It's fun to learn different terms. Guest guest
My Mom always called cottage cheese, " smearcase " and my father-in-law tell me to make sure I painted the cake or painted the cookies, he was from Mexico and referred to icing as painting. My BlL calls waffles, mufflers lol. Donna Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry
