Dates Substitution

I have the thick cookbook, Essential VEgetarin Cookbook.I've had it for

years,and it's starting to come in handy. I love dates, and wanted to try the

granola bars in the cookbook,but I wasn't planning on going to the store today.

I have dried cranberries,and dried fruit,adn other things. What substitue for

dates, that's not prunes? In otherwords, how can I mae the granola bars, without

dates?

What page is the recipe on that you are wanting to make. I've got this amazing

cookbook too.

Lol,I bought it years ago, I wasn't even vegetarian. It is an amazing

cookbook,that should be on everyone's shelf, no matter what. The recipe is on

page 51. --Rhonda

I just looked and didn't see any dates in that recipe. Did you mean dried

Figs?

You could substitute most any dried fruit for dates.
