Rumaki (common incorrect spelling -ramaki)

Rumaki:

Interesting history/lack of it..I didn't know this..Had to research it.

Seems like the earliest known reference was in 1941 on the menu at Don the

Beachcomber Restaurant in Palm Springs Calif.

The word Rumaki may be an alteration of the Japanese word Harumaki meaning

Spring Roll.

Donna,I smiled at your mention of " poultry item " and yes I said " yikes " too.

Some " items " are best left unspoken. Tee hee
