Guest guest
I was gifted two beautiful gourds, one was (yes we cut it up and ate it before I thought to take a picture) green and white striped with a crooked neck. This thing was huge! The skin was very smooth and thin, I was able to peel it with a vegetable peeler. The flesh was a pale yellow and it had a very strong pumpkin flavor. I was told by the person who gave it to me that it is called a " pie squash " but I can not find any reference to a " pie squash " anywhere. I was hoping someone may know what this is actually called, I saved some seeds from it and plan to plant them next year, but I would really like to know what it is that I am growing. I will post a picture of the other one to see if anyone knows what it is called and what it tastes like so I can decide how to cook it. As usual any help is deeply appreciated. Peace, Andrea
