Christine, Information is empowering, and good information is

incredibly empowering. There are two books to read that will help you

and DH embrace vegetarianism. Both incredibly readable, research based,

solid science. (I am not one to act on opinion, not even popular

opinion...I read footnotes and go look up the research. I can't help

myself) One is " The China Study " by T. Colin Campbell, PhD and Thomas

M. Campbell II. The other is " Eat To Live " by Joel Fuhrman, M.D. Both

are life changing. Both will put information in your hands that will

allow you to make health affirming choices and you will understand why.

Both were recommended to me by my cardiologist, who tells me I am

healthy and in a position to do real prevention through diet. I

smile when I look at my grocery cart now, such a change from the old

days. I now look at greens and know the protein they contain. While it

has only been about 6 months for me, I live in a different world now

and never feel the need to defend my desire to be here. I just am. Just

because your family throws flack, it doesn't mean you need to catch it.

Let it fall to your feet, smile, and do what is good for you. Allow

me to say that this is a wonderful and supportive group. I am still

learning, I have posted a few time to let you know how much I enjoyed a

few of the recipes. Right now I am still finding my way but hope to

have a lot more to offer over time. Thanks!
