Guest guest
Butternut and banana squash are a little swetter than acorn. Delicata is more like acorn too. Now kobacha can very sweet and often taste just like acorn. I make pumpkin bread with butternut because it is sweet like canned pumpkin. Saturday, October 17, 2009, 1:19 PM Wow, thanks for all of the good advice! The recipe I tried was Garlicky Baked Butternut Squash, posted by Renee from Allrecipes.com. I think I would use more garlic, but I wasn't too fond of the squash taste, it was too sweet. I don't think I'd like it with brown sugar, that would be too sweet. If you like butternut squash, though, this recipe would be good. I already tried acorn squash with BBQ baked beans inside (Andrea's recipe) -- liked that. Next squash to try: spaghetti! Guest guest
Our family likes butternut squash steamed and mashed with a little salt. This is the only way we like it too, because it is a bit sweet adding the brown sugar for us is over kill. Cherie in North Dakota
