Jann rice in the crocpot

Jann those photos in cookbooks are a joke. They are assembled by food artists.

I saw how it's done. They fill mile high pies with mashed potatoes and spread

fruit around the side of a cut pie making it look like the whole pie is jammed

with fruit. They use all types of tricks to make the photo look tantalizing. I

never cook rice in the crockpot, it's so quick in the rice cooker, or as members

say the microwave. I will have to try the microwave method one day.

That's for sure! I can always picture them arranging each grain of rice etc

using tweezers...

Taste is always the most important thing to me, I like a beautifully prepared

and attractive dish, but it's not essential.

I've never used the microwave for preparing rice either, just heating up

leftovers.
