Guest guest
yep, just my two cents.. sales, sales are great. We go through a set of dishes a year, my step mom almost always buys me a set for christmas so I tend to luck out there because by the time the year is ending so are my dishes. For example right now we have two plates left from the set I received last christmas and one from the christmas before. My two oldest children always seem to break something doing dishes and at one time I found my youngest daughter had been throwing the dishes away when I told her to clean her plate in the trash. lol, I meant scrape but that happens when you are talking to a 3 year old. Thankfully she has learned not to throw them away anymore. Guest guest
I was at Target, last week and they had a set of five place settings in one box for $1.78,so I bought 8 boxes. Not bad for about $15.00 when tax was added for dishes. This even had silverware, well not real silver of course. It also had glasses like 8 oz tumbler size. I thought I got a good deal.

I live alone and do not brake many dishes. I fact, I have taken to using paper plates a whole lot. lol The dishes I have now are from my mother-in-law when she passed. Never really liked them anyway but what can I say. None of her daughters wanted them, that should tell you something. I am sure your daughter could handle them. lol I have a friend, not married with a very good job, that has such nice, cheerful dishes. They are red, yellow, orange and very bright colors. I don't know how much they cost or if she even purchased them in this country. She travels to Italy often. Anyway, in my old age I need a little color in my life. I will ask her where she purchased them and just hope they are not expensive. When I get more I will give mine to the Viet Nam Vets. They can use them, I am sure. in Northern Illinois

Guest guest
That is a great idea for the good dishes you want to get rid of and hopefully you'll be able to find some nice friendly priced ones to give you some cheer. Amazingly enough the older kids never seemed to notice the dishes in the garbage when they went to take it out.. lol. Jenn
Guest guest
Those colorful dishes you describe sound like it could be Fiestaware--pretty bright colors. You can get sets off Ebay or in the department stores..... Patty
Guest guest
The old Fiestaware is very expensive, but they have put out a new version. - sugarpeachyp Thursday, October 29, 2009 4:29 PM Re: [veg_grp]Sales...Dishes Those colorful dishes you describe sound like it could be Fiestaware--pretty bright colors. Guest guest
Kohl's has the new stuff -- and the way they put things on sale, that would be a good place to get it. I think Macy's or JC Penney's or somebody like that also carries it. Audrey On Thu, Oct 29, 2009 at 10:14 PM, L.L.
