Guest guest
I was really disappointed with the episode. There wasn't one dish where I felt compelled to download the recipe. Robin's dish may have looked beautiful, but no one, including Natalie, liked it very much. Not only did Robin not win, but she was in the bottom three and could have been sent home for that dish. I wish the challenge had been to create a vegetarian dish that included at least one grain or one legume. Most of the chefs focused on vegetables only. On the other hand, I loved the Top Chef Masters vegan episode which aired a few months back. The chefs in that competition were established, very accomplished chefs, and the dishes they put out looked like they rocked. I downloaded many of those recipes, but I'll probably never make any of the them because they all seem very complicated. Their cooking is way too sophisticated for me. Guest guest
It was a milestone episode for vegetarian food compared to any of the other episodes and this series has nothing to do with Top Chef Masters. I doubt if a grain dish would have been accepted any better. They aren't vegetarians and not used to eating like vegetarians. It was Natalie's friend who made the rude comment about missing a steak. In the start of this season the one woman was sent home, she made something with seitan or tempeh, I can't remember which but it didn't go over big. Guest guest
That's odd - isn't Natalie Portman a vegetarian or vegan? I thought she'd have vegetarian friends....
