Nancy we have to be in control of our own destiny in these matters. I tried to

help my anorexic friend for over 10 yrs and gave up on it, I smoked because I

enjoyed it even though I was sick all the time, I had to get sick of being sick

and realize what I was doing to myself.

My Dad died an alcoholic and he also smoked 4 packs of Pall Mall unfiltered

cigs, lived on cream, butter and steaks. It was his choice. He went to AAA

meetings and drank out of a bottle in his glove compartment on break, he had a

cranial bypass and I would go visit him in the hospital, he was laying under his

bed drinking liquor that one of his old drunks brought him and smoking in the

hospital bathroom and spraying Ozium to kill the scent. Nothing worked for him

because he didn't really want help. He died at 58.

You are 100% correct but if I thought I was going to put my children through

what I went through with my mother, I would do my dead level best to change that

behavior and I know she would have too, if she could have.

 

It is ALL within our own power to choose what we do in this lifetime as far as

smoking, drinking and taking drugs is concerned.......and, for every activity

like those, there is some kind of a consequence.....like it or not.

 

Now, what in the heck is a " cranial bypass " ?

Auricular acupuncture is excellent for smoking cessation. If you don't like

the tiny needles, they can use tiny magnetic beads. Worked great for me.
