Guest guest
Hi Patty, Yes, I've read Dr. Fuhrman's Eat to Live (and also Eat for Health, and Fasting and Eating for Health). I highly, highly recommend it for anyone who is concerned about maximixing their health...it has totally transformed what I eat. If you go to his website (www.drfuhrman.com), you can read lots of success stories from people who have reversed their diseases on his high nutrient, whole foods plan. Good luck! Guest guest
I borrowed his book from the library, reading it now. Another option to consider (I believe in doing my research! we all have to find what works best for us) is http://drhyman.com/ especially his Ultra Simple Diet http://www.ultrasimplediet.com/is/home He talks about inflammation etc, things I never considered before. When I think of food allergies, I think of swollen lips and not being able to breathe, not very mild changes to our bodies. Alot to think about. It's very difficult to change the way we have always looked at food, but I think it's worth looking at many different viewpoints. Guest guest
I've read The Ultra Simple Diet and his series on Ultra Metabolism. They are great books and a really simple concept. He is the reason why I detoxed off of sugar and caffine. Who knew that it would imporve my eye sight like it did. I did the detox diet with the exception of the vegtable broth because I couldn't find the powder and when I made some, I just couldn't stomach it, so I juiced and drank loads of water. I now juice to get my nutrients because of my stomach condition and I feel better. Jillian McKieth also has the same concept. She has a show called " You Are What You Eat " on BBC America and has a website. She has published several books. You can search her at Amazon or Overstock. Her approach is just as simple but not from an allergy perspective so to speak but gets people to take their diet back down to the basics of a vegetarian diet without processed sugars and flours, so no simple carbs of any kind. She also advocats juicing to start the morning. Since she is British, she fights to end the morning and afternoon tea that has more caffine that coffee and is horrible if you add loads of sugar and cream. Apparently British people love their sweets with their tea and butter with their bread, so sweet tooth and fat tooth is a problem. I think you can look at www.bbcamerica.com for a schedule of her show.
