Guest guest
We went out Friday for my bag 'meds and whilst Carl stood in line to get them, I wandered in search of bargains. Hot tofu doggie! There was a shopping cart filled to the top with acorn and sweet dumpling squashes. Each was priced at a quarter and I started putting them in my cart. The produce man asked what in the world I was going to do with all those Thanksgiving decorations. I thought he was joking and told him that I'd cook them and we'd eat them. He was shocked and said he didn't know you could eat them aaaaand offered me the whole cart for $5.00. I grilled one with maple syrup and toasted pecans for dinner last night . Carl made a nice frame with legs to store them in his wood storage shed and got sawdust from a mill nearby. So all the pretty squash are tucked in safely and we'll eat well this winter. The company that handled the sweet dumpling squash has a website with good veggie recipes. www.superior-sales.com There was a celery casserole recipe I did for our lunch today and it was really good - crunchy celery. If you like celery you'd like it, but if you don't like it, it would probably be pretty awful. lol. Also scored huge on some things for the kids we help. Hope all are doing well, Hugs, Jeanne in GA http://http://jeannefromgeorgia.blogspot.com/
