Guest guest
(Hi! I sent this before typing in the subject! Sorry! ) Hi, I get the digest, just like you do. I save recipes from this group often. What Audrey suggested in her post is good when you want to print. You may also like to save them as " Word " (or whatever word-processing program your computer uses) document file. I do that a lot--I have an enormous " cookbook " section in my computer files (and most of them are backed up, although I've been notified that my " backup " device is now getting too full for its own good!) To save to a file, I just click on the " Word " program from my startup menu and put up a blank document form. I highlight only the recipe from the digest and then click " copy " . I then pull up the Word blank page and hit " paste " --bingo! There it is on the document page! If I want to, I can change a few things on the document before filing it. I usually hit the " font " tab in Word and highlight the text for the title of the recipe, then click to underline just that. It usually automatically saves the recipe document with the title of the recipe as the title of the document, making it easy to find when I am looking for it later. Whenever I want to USE one of my filed recipes, I just pull it up from my documents and print a preview--just to see how it will come out, then I print it up on paper and--voila! No problem with finding a good recipe! I wish you success with your cooking adventures! --Laura B., in Illinois How to print a recipe Posted by: " cabauler " cabauler cabauler Tue Dec 8, 2009 4:05 pm ((PST)) I just joined this group and I honestly don't know how to print single recipes I like without printing the whole digest. I'm sure there's a way so please someone enlighten me. Thanks, Carol
Guest guest
I also save recipies from the group. Like you do, I save them to word in 'my documnets'. I don't have a back up drive, so periodically I send a copy of the document with all thousand or so recipies to myself at my address. mail boxes are unlimited in size, so I use that as a back up. When I go somewhere, I can still access my recpies and every couple months, when I have added a bunch of new ones, I delete the told email I sent to myself and send a new one. I also print out the recipe to take to the kitchen with me while I cook. I save the printed recipies with my comments and any changes I may have made or suggestion on how to try it next time. good cooking and happy eating, Katie
