Dear Srinivasan,

For the Kali yuga, bakthi is the

recommended method, by the sages, for spiritual

advancement. Also Japa is recommended strongly by many

Gurus. There is one Upanishad, (if i remember

correctly it is called " Kaliyugopanishad " ), which

states that the mantra " Hare Rama Hare Rama, Rama Rama

Hare Hare, Hare Krishna Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna

Hare Hare " is the most powerful Mantra for Kali Yuga.

Often intellect will be a hurdle for Self-realisation,

IMHO. May be the repetitive mantra chanting do really

rewire the neuronal pathways, it is the trend of the

rational mind to find out a reason for all esoteric

experiences.

With Love and regards

Venugopal

>Dear Shri Venugopal, Thnaks for your reply....Yes, I accept that Japa

is a powerful method for this Yuga...Lord Krishna says in 10th chapter

that in meditation he is Japa...Chanting helps to keep our mind

focussed on our Ishta devata or guru...But this method is not what

Bhagavan Ramana would recommend as the direct path, vis a vis the Self

enquiry/atma vichara...In this light, I am feeling short of Ramana's

instructions..May be I have to evolve myself in the spiritual pursuit

that I could devote only for atma vichara and give up other

methods, which may help towards purifying one's mind[Chitta Suddhi]---
