Guest guest
Dear Group, I see that now a satsang with Nome has been added to YouTube. This is a satsang for Ramana Jayanti, and in it several verses from Ramana's Supplement to Forty Verses are read in Tamil, then English, and then Nome provides commentary on the verse. I find Nome's commentaries most instructive. It is like he is taking a spotlight and illuminating the verse in great clarity and depth. In this video, I particularly like " part 2. " This is on the introduction to the Supplement on Forty verse. http://youtube.com/watch?v=Mm9MrHBXZfs & feature=related Take a look! Listen (and watch), reflect and deeply meditate. Guest guest
Dear Richard, Many thanks for informing me about these wonderful videos. What I like most about the Maharshi's teachings is that they are direct and without the distracting elaboration, the endless prerequisites one finds within many schools. He takes the seeker to the heart of the matter without speculation or superstition and that is a rare thing in my experience. The further a teacher recedes in time the more convoluted become the commentaries on his work and insight. We can see this within many Buddhist and Hindu groups. Maharshi's insight is still fresh and connects us to the source. I have always felt that we need to work with what we've got, warts and all, rather than waiting for an unspecified time or state of grace to manifest in order to be considered ripe to proceed.
