One of our sangha members, Richard Clarke, who is in India living near Ramanashram climbed up to Skandashram and took some beautiful picture. His wife Carol travelled the path barefoot, which for a Western person is quite an achievement. Actually it would be quite an achievement for modern Indians as well. Richard wore sandals and felt that Carol gained more punya (spiritual merit) by going barefeet on the mountain path. The pictures taken on the way are breathtaking. Unfortunately, Richard was attacked by a swarm of bees at the end and stung a bit at on his head.
