Dear Pula

You are heard, you are heard very keenly.

Whatever Alan Chadwick reported about that incident which the Maharshi

so keenly perceived and highlighted, it is felt that the insidious

undermining of the teaching is far more prevalent now. It feels as

though the entire architecture of the Ramana edifice has become infested

with woodworm.

One joins this list in sincerity with faith in the wording on the

wrapper which claims that it is " Blessed by Sri Bhagavan Ramana. "

And then one logs in to read: " We are taking this day as a Holy day. We

have a recording of a recent SAT retreat, where Nome reads from and

comments on Ramana's " Who am I?' "

How very sad it is that the words of our master are being used as a

means of promoting a commercial concern, and that management appears to

do nothing about it!

Regarding the link you sent: The owner of the blog seems to me to be a

wise man who speaks from the depths of experience, from the heart.

Perhaps you would do well to " hang out " (as they say these days) with

him and to explore the sites he has made.

I am astonished and, I must confess, seething at the blatant undermining

of the pure teaching of the Maharshi which appears to have infected so

many sites.

Most sincerely,

-Michael-

instead of reacting and following it up, why dont we ask " who is it that is

reacting? "

in that way, we as bhagavan ramana maharshi's devotees, we are sincerely

tracing every thought to it's Source because thats what the sadhana is all

about. its about the effort, dear devotees. continuous effort. its about

exercising dispassion. only those matters... let us not be affected by anything

else...

Dear Pula

You are heard, you are heard very keenly.

so keenly perceived and highlighted, it is felt that the insidious

undermining of the teaching is far more prevalent now. It feels as

though the entire architecture of the Ramana edifice has become infested

means of promoting a commercial concern, and that management appears to

Dear Michael, that is a good point. We should not do advertising for commercial

concerns here. Richard, please do take care on this matter. A number of members

have expressed concerns to me on this. This list is devoted to the teachings of

Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi and not any other middle person. I hope I am not

being too bold in saying this. You are valued member of the sangha Richard.

On the other hand, I want to say to everyone that Richard has not said anything

objectionable that I am aware of. Further, Richard is in Arunachala which is

auspicious and sending beautiful pictures and articles about Arunachala which we

all appreciate. Since Richard has studied with Nome, naturally he gravitates

towards that. Why should people be angry with him because of that?

Also, Michael, you seem disappointed with the management of the list. I am sorry

to hear that. I work full time and do the best I can. Possibly there are other

Sri Ramana lists or websites which are more pure about Sri Ramana's teaching

where you will feel more satisfied and at home. The list is what it is. Yes, it

is blessed by Bhagavan Ramana. That is why the devotees are not angry people.

Sri Ramana got angry now and then but he was not an angry person.

I see some devotees who seem to be perpetually seething or bitter at something

or another. I wonder why. It is, in fact, not easy for a spiritually mature

person to work himself up and become angry. Once in a while if the situation

demands, yes. But to be angry all the time, what is that but ignorance in full

force parading as wisdom. The claim of anger that Sri Bhagavan's teaching is

being misrepresented is a complete farce. Bhagavan himself used to laugh at such

things. We do not force people to join the list and we do not stop people from

leaving if they are not satisfied. We wish everyone well. So what is the

problem? And if there is a problem, what is the solution? Bhagavan told Kunju

Swami to focus on what he came to Sri Ramana for. So those who are overly

critical of others can ask themselves why they came to this list in the first

place. And if the list is not satisfactory, why not move on to something else.

Namaste and love to all

Harsha
