Guest guest
Have the teachings of Jesus Christ or Christianity ever produced another woman or man as great as Jesus? Have the teachings of the Buddha or Buddhism ever produced another woman or man such as the Buddha? Has Islam ever produced another Mohammed? Has the life, teachings and example of Ramana Maharshi ever produced one such as he? This is partially due to the fact that religions and teachers are limited because of the limited nature of words and the limited nature of human understanding. To rise to that level of being ONE must cling to the Self alone. The Self is expressed only imperfectly in the lives and words of all teachers and gurus. How can it be any other way? For words and human lives themselves are limited and can only point imperfectly to the life immersed in Self. It seems that Ramana Maharshi did have a core message; but he also advised persons in a diverse array of teachings and methods. He himself worshipped Sri Yantra every week at the ashram and that practice carries on to this very day. Actually, if we reflect deeply, we would have to admit that we do not know all of the words that Ramana uttered to persons who sought his advice. To assume that we have been able to place all of the teachings of Ramana Maharshi in a box, and capture his whole being there, is folly. There will never, ever be another Ramana Maharshi. Use his teachings to rise to freedom, your own personal and individual freedom, a freedom unfettered by the ignorance of the unenlightened. Life in the Self is free and full of joy. Freedom and joy are the goal life.
