The Heaven of Unity

In my Self I catch my Beloved’s scent,

Each night I carry her into my heart ?

David sang ‘be still and know that I am Godâ€.

Yesterday I strolled in Love’s rose garden,

A plaintive wish entered my addled brain.

Her brilliant Sun peeped from behind my eyes,

A stream of salty tears began to flood.

Each smiling Rose that springs from her laughing lips

Has escaped from the sharp thorn of existence.

Each evergreen tree and blade of emerald grass

Is turning like a whirling Dervish in the wild meadow.

But to the ignorant mind of the vulgarly blind

They seem tied to Mother Earth and jailed.

Suddenly at the bower, my Beloved enters,

The garden becomes drunk and senseless,

Every branch waves and claps its hands.

Her veiled face, is ecstaticly on fire,

My soul was shamed, and wailed ‘where can I go ?’

In the heavenly plane of Divine Unity

There’s no place for numbers, except for One ;

But here, by need, we’ve two’s and three’s.

You hold a hundred thousand ripe grapes

In the cold sweat of your labouring hands,

If you wish to make rich, red ruby wine,

Tread them in the winepress , all together.

Look ! without reading the many letters,

What’s the meaning of heart-language ?

The purity of brilliant light is derived

From the sacred source of all action.

The Sage is seated in his kingly state,

My poor verses are but his willing slave.

Dear Alan

In answer to " Be still and know that I Am God " .

Sri Atmananda Said about the activities of the mind and sense organs.

" I Am pure happiness. All the activities of the sense organs and

mind aim at happiness. Thus all their activities is a worship done

to Me.I Am ever in repose disinterestedly perceiving their worship

to Me. Again and Again, they touch Me unawares and lapse into

passivty.Coming out of it they continue their worship.Once they

understand that by their activities they are worshiping Me, and in

passivity they lie touching Me all suffering ceases. Therefore,

action done will be no action and passivity will be no passivity,

because ignorance has been rooted out. "

God Bless

Dear Mourad,

Thanks once again for sending a profound comment on a recent posting.

Yes, that quote throws light on what Ramana regarded as one of the

most profound statements in the Old Testament from Psalms, along with

the 'wise man's heart is on the right, the fool's on the left' from

Ecclesiastes.. There is also a similar statement in Psalm 46 v.

11 'Let be, and know that I am God;'. All this illustrates that Non

Dualism was understood in the Biblical Period under King David, even

if it was not generally disclosed.

All best wishes and love,

As ever,

Alan
