Guest guest
Dear Friends, I apologise for the frequent corruption in these poems. When I send them to myself as a test , they are fine, but when posted to the Group they come out somewhat corrupted. I don't know the answer, I think it may be due to the fact that they have been copied and pasted. So bear with them , please, until I have time to type them out afresh Love to all In Sri Bhagavan's Grace, Alan A QUESTION Why doesn’t the soul take wing, when from your presence Words of Grace comes to her saying “ arise, awake !†? Why can’t fish leap nimbly from dry land into the sea. When the wave’s roar reaches it from the ocean ? Why doesn’t a falcon fly from its prey back to the King When it hears the snare drum beating return , return ? Why shouldn’t each Sufi begin to dance like dust in the Sun If he may swiftly free himself from spiritual death ? .. When He’s such grace, beauty, love and giver of life. What suffering and misery follow if one deserts Him. So fly, take wing and soar back to your native home! For you’ve escaped from your cage and your span is spread. Travel from the bitter stream to the fresh fountain of Life. Leave the guest hall and enter your soul’s throne room . Get a move on, my Soul for we wish to come From sad banishment to the world of union . How long, like children will we go on filling our laps With stones ,trinkets, and bits of broken pots ? Let’s give up this sordid earth and soar heavenwards, From immature childhood to the King’s banquet . See how our bodily frame has cleverly trapped us , Tear off its rags and raise your mind to clarity. Take Love’s scroll which I give you, in your right hand, If you’re wise enough to know your right from left? God said to the rational mind’s messenger “be off!†To the hand of Death he said “curb your worldly desire!†A voice came “spirit yourself away to the unseen!†Take the gain and treasure and grieve about pain no more. Cry out and proclaim in a loud voice that you are King! This is the answer to my question, and now its your knowledge.
