Guest guest
Hello Friends I would be grateful if someone could either summarise or point me to a text describing how Sri Ramana approached money in his own life. I appreciate he did not charge for teaching nor had a sense of ownership of money at all. But did he need money at all to live on or was he in a self sufficient environment? If he did need money, did it come through donations or some other means? Many thanks Raph
Guest guest
Dear Raph, & nbsp; Bhagavan never needed money until he decided to travel to Arunachala. He was brought up in a middle class Brahman school. To travel to Tiru, he pawned his ear rings and borrowed a few rupees from his brother for the train fare. When he got to the Temple he was fed by Priests and other devotees who recognised his high spiritual state. During his early years he begged for food on occaisions or was fed by devotees or the & nbsp;temples. When the Ashram started, his brother Chinaswami was the Manager, and raised the necessary funds for whatever was needed. Wealthy and poor people gave donations. So Bhagavan, as a fully surrendered Jnani , left the money question to Divine Providence and was well looked after for the whole of his life. He recognised the need for money in others, and shared their problems, giving Sage advice. I am sure others will fill in this answer to your question. There is a biography called SELF REALISATION available from the Ashram. Our Gabriele has also written a biography. & nbsp; All love, & nbsp; In His Grace, & nbsp; Alan --- On Thu, 29/5/08, Raph & lt;beingnothing00 & gt; wrote: Raph & lt;beingnothing00 & gt; Sri Ramana and Money Thursday, 29 May, 2008, 12:48 AM Hello Friends I would be grateful if someone could either summarise or point me to a text describing how Sri Ramana approached money in his own life.
