Guest guest
Hello to All, I would like to know what is this " Surrender " ? I have read in many books, many people talking about it and even in various mails. Even I have used the word Surrender. But I know that it is only through my mouth and not from heart. Because I really do not know how the surrender comes from our heart? Morning before leaving to office, I pray and say that I surrender, " Let this body, mind, thoughts, actions be it anything, let me surrender at your feet and go on. Let me do things always thinking of you. " But once you go away and start to work in office and be with people, we forget totally. Sometimes I end up making mistakes and only after making mistakes, I realize the mistake and feel guilty. Guilty of 2 things - 1st that mistake has been comiited and second, my surrender was not complete and pure. Each day I fail and each morning I keep trying, even knowing my effort is not sincere. Can some of you guide me how to surrender oneself to Bhagavan? I firmly belive if the surrender comes from heart, it is the one and only solution for everything. But without surrender be it whatever our effort, it will be in vain. Thanks Palani
Guest guest
Dear Palaniappan, This is quite normal at the beginning. Bhagavan said " complete surrender is impossible in the beginning. Partial surrender is certainly possible for all. In course of time that will lead to complete surrender. " From Talks 244 So one must persevere the best one can with faith in his words. Your prayerful approach sounds good, and should lead to it becoming more heartfelt in time. Persistence is the key, grace and guidance will follow in due course. One need not feel guilty. One just goes on remembering when ever one can, and allow it to ripen without worrying about progress. This is only my view but I trust others will respond and help answer your question from their experience.. All best wishes, in His Grace, Alan --- On Fri, 4/7/08, Palaniappan C <ksrpal2002 wrote: Palaniappan C <ksrpal2002 Surrender?? It seems to me that you are already surrendering from the Heart, except that your mind keeps interfering and stalling the process by producing many kind of thoughts of self-doubt and self-deprecation. For what you describe, the process is already in place, and it is taking care by Grace. What you call Palani, name given to your sense of separate individuality, may not like that at all. Remember that Ego wants solutions that are CHEAP, FAST and EASY...and vasanas just don't dissapear like that. Don't be so hard on yourself, relinquish even your doubts to the Lord (Self), He brought you here, He is the only One who can take you out, not your Ego. In fact, there is no place for Ego in the Lord (Self)'s Universe, because it's Non-Dual! That means IS FULL OF SELF. All spiritual efforts are never wasted, as Krishna tells Arjuna in the Bhagavad Gita. Learn to be Silent some moments of the day. Be quiet. Even for seconds that helps. Relax without loosing awareness of Being, rely more on the " feeling " of existence than in thoughts about existence. Our fears are based on our sense of insecurity, but the Ego cannot see that our situation is like someone falling from a cliff, hanging to a big rock that is also falling next to us and saying: " Ouff!!, now everything is going to be fine... " Let go even from THAT rock. Anyhow, these are just a few thoughts from a friend. Good luck, Yours in Bhagavan, Mouna
