Guest guest
On Mind Control There is no other way of controlling the mind except as prescribed in the books like the Gita, drawing in the mind as often as it strays or goes outward, and fixing it in the Self. Of course it will not be easy to do it. It will come only with practice or sadhana. Gems From Bhagavan P.
Guest guest
The Gita prescribes Nama Smarnam. Meditating on the name of the lord. The name can be anything - Rama, krishna, om namah shivay, Hare Ram. One sage says: The mind should not wander from the Name; it should dwell on the sweetness which the Name connotes; it should ruminate on the beauty of the Form which it recalls, the perfume which it spreads. When the mind wanders it should be gently bought back to dwell on the sweetness of the name or the effulgence of the form. Like the guiding rails these two will contain the mind. The mind is not controlled by iron but by love. With time the mind will be tamed and wander less. Another says: You will receive the benefits of prayer even when the mind wanders. You benefit more as you strive to meditate and guide your mind. Remember, we are infinite beings, we have infinite time.
