Guest guest
I came upon this verse in " Song of Ribhu " recently on what a guru should teach his disciples. i think this is very good, and an appropriate thing to remember when listening to a teacher. Certainly Sri Ramana met the 'standard' elucidated in this verse (as does my own teacher). Chapter 19, Greatness of the Sage. verse 55 When the guru instructs the disciple Properly in nonduality, He does not really try to educate the pupli About bondage-ridden duality. He will assess the mind of the disciple and accordingly grade his instruction To teach the great Truth of differenceless nonduality. In friendliness, I shall give you an example of this principle I have laid before you. 56 Just as the ritual of the crying of the people Who are called in to weep by the so, on the demise of his father with few relatives, Is only for the payment and is not for real, Likewise the bring in of duality by the guru Is only to explain nonduality to the disciple and not because duality is real. There should be no doubt of this, son. Therefore, you should forget the duality And become the embodiment of the nonduality. ------------- Om Arunachala, Richard
