GITA STUDY 14

From Ramana's selection of the 42 most important verses in the Gita, chosen in

an order for guidance, and entitled The Song Celestial. See Collected Works.

" He who abandons the injunctions of the scriptures and behaves according to the

impulses of his desires, attains neither perfection, nor happiness, nor the

highest state of salvation. " XVI 23

Comment: This verse is self explanatory. The Scriptures of the Higher Religions

are given to guide us as to the best ethical and moral qualities we need to live

by. Unless we put some restraint on our egotism and desires, we may never reach

Self Realisation.
