Ashrita Furman, who holds 85 Guinness World record, staged the event held in Queens suburb of New York to set up another. " Sri Chinmoy had such a giant heart. So we celebrate his birthday with a giant cake, " he said. A team of 200 helpers spent several hours counting and inserting the 48,000 small, colourful birthday candles on the cake in the memory of the guru, who died last year. The candles were lit in a space of just two minutes by a second team of 80 assistants with blow torches. About 1100 of his followers and admirers sang " Happy Birthday " as the candles were lit.
