GITA STUDY 23 V.III:43

 

" Thus knowing Him who is beyond the intellect, O mighty in arms, control your

self by the Self and slay the enemy in the form of desire, hard though it may

be. "

 

Comment:

 

Bhagavan here reinforces V. 22.

 

If we know that the SELF is the power beyond the intellect we can overpower the

petty self , of egotism , I thought, or I am the body notio,. by that awesome

power of the Self, inherent in our own Heart. Thus we can kill the demon ego

which cloaks itself in the form of 'desire'. This is very difficult, but

perseverance will be victorious.
