Guest guest
BHAGAVAD GITA STUDY 27 V:25 " One should gradually, attain quietude with the intellect (Buddhi) held steadfast and the mind sunk in the Self, allowing no thought to rise. " Comment: Bhagavan chooses the preceding verse from the Gita by emphasising the need to gain peacefulness or 'stillness' by holding the wandering intellect in a steady grip and the mind (ego or I Thought etc) deeply sunk in the Self, allowing no thoughts to rise. This difficult task is lightened by saying it could be achieved 'gradually'. 'Sinking 'into the Self is reminiscent of 'Diving' into the Heart or Self. I choose the Collected Works translation by Arthur Osborne and Prof. Kulkarni because it is published by Ramanasramam and purports to be a translation of Ramana's Song Celestial, rather than the whole Gita.. Further elucidation and questions are invited.
