ROSE GARDEN

In the radiant rose garden of my heart,

In my sunny summertime of meditation

On God’s Name: by steady concentration,

The white lilies of devotion impart

Their scent, welcoming an earnest start

To prune the growths of grief and dissipation,

Heralding the dawn of mental regulation.

Then worship blooms to form a sacred part

Of hymnal chants I sing in adoration.

The sweet apple of Self Knowledge and bliss,

Pure awareness, is a juicy joyful fruit

Sealed with the Divine Mother’s loving kiss,

She fulfils the magic of my Self pursuit.

Bold beauty adorns my bower of peace,

In the ardent arbour of my Soul’s release.

thanks, alan... lovely!

incidentally, it reminded me this old one:

I am

An old tree.

Many summers and winters

Overgrew my tender inner sapling

With layers of various widths,

Forming rings

On the cross cuts

Of my memories.

But

Through all those years

The sapling is still

Alive and well

Though apparently hidden

By the rough

Outer

Bark..

And

The gaze

Of the wise

My friends

Penetrates

Further.

Going

Beyond sapling

They face

The seed.

ps. and another one:

This whole baobab tree of illusion

With its roots

And its trunk, and its fruits

And its sap

And its bark

And all its branches and leaves

and its shade too

All of it

The whole complete tree

Is contained

In the tiny seed

Known as

" Me "
