THE SELF

 

That radiance of consciousness bliss,

in the form of one awareness

 

shining in the same way within and without,

is the Supreme and blissful Reality,

 

whose form is Silence,

 

and which is declared by Jnanis

to be the final and incontrovertible state

of true knowledge.

 

Note:

 

Murunagar wrote a great Poem called 'Padamalai', (Feet of the Guru) from which

this verse is an extract. It contains Bhagavan's Utterances, which the great

Tamil Poet recorded for the more mature seeker it is translated from the Tamil

by Robert Butler. The book is edited and published by David Godman and is
