Guest guest
Dear Zeal, Taxi is simplest. Should be around 2000 rupees and takes about 4 hrs.depending on traffic. There are routes by train and bus, I am not familiar with these, others might know. You could stay at the Ashram for three days if you write to the President giving your dates, saying you are a Devotee. Have a look at Bhagavan Sri Ramana main web site on Google. There is advice for visitors.Three days would give you time to look around. The rickshaw drivers know every type of accomodation and will make suggestions according to your budget Other members may advise too from this Group. All best wishes in your quest, Alan --- On Wed, 25/2/09, zeal4zen <zeal4zen wrote: zeal4zen <zeal4zen Travel to Arunachala Wednesday, 25 February, 2009, 3:26 PM I am new to this group and never visited Arunachala. Guest guest
Alan, Zeal wants to go from Mumbai and not Chennai. I think it should be said that your directions are from Chennai. Zeal has to take a train (24hrs) or flight (2hrs) to Chennai. We have to pay for the return trip of the taxi, even if we are going only one way. Probably 2000Rs by taxi from Chennai includes the return fare. sundar , Alan Jacobs <alanadamsjacobs wrote: > > Dear Zeal, > > Taxi is simplest.
