Dear Sundarajan,

Oh dear, I made a mistake there. Yes, of course from Mumbai.

The Ashram will arrange a taxi to meet him at the Airport if he is booked in there, and there is no return fare. If he is staying in Tiru outside the Ashram then I can arrange a taxi for him without return fare. 2000 Rupees. There are trains from Mumbai to Tamil Nadu, but I do not know the details.

Thanks for pointing out the error.

All best wishes,

Alan

Alan,Zeal wants to go from Mumbai and not Chennai. I think it should besaid that your directions are from Chennai. Zeal has to take a train(24hrs) or flight (2hrs) to Chennai. We have to pay for the return trip of the taxi, even if we are goingonly one way. Probably 2000Rs by taxi from Chennai includes the returnfare.sundar, Alan Jacobs<alanadamsjacobs@ ...> wrote:>> Dear Zeal,> > Taxi is simplest. You could stay at the Ashramfor three days if you write to the President giving your dates, sayingyou are a Devotee. Have a look at Bhagavan Sri Ramana main web site onGoogle. There is

advice for visitors.Three days would give you time tolook around. The rickshaw drivers know every type of accomodation andwill make suggestions according to your budget Other members mayadvise too from this Group.> > All best wishes in your quest,> > Alan > > --- On Wed, 25/2/09, zeal4zen <zeal4zen@.. .> wrote:> > zeal4zen <zeal4zen@.. .>> Travel to Arunachala> > Wednesday, 25 February, 2009, 3:26 PM> > > > > > > I am new to this group and never visited Arunachala. Vathsala,

Thanks for the information. I have been going by car all these days.

Now that (as I found in my last trip in 2007) the road has been

excellently paved, a bus trip should be quite comfortable enough and

more green.
