18. The Course of Prarabdha [Destiny]

What we experience now is only

The fruit of former actions. Knowing this, one should not worry [about] what

Happens to one. Whether or not one likes it

One may not escape, one needs must eat,

The food one has prepared.

 

The Guru Vachaka Kovai [Garland of Guru's sayings]are the utterances of Bhagavan

recorded by Sri Murunagar. There are several different translations. This one,

by Prof. Swaminathan, has been translated into free verse, as the original Tamil

is poetic.
