From the Garland of Guru's Sayings - Prof. Swaminathan' s translation

40. Macro and Micro

P.42

V. 218

When the opposite poles of two magnets,

One huge, one tiny,

Come together,

The small acquires and shares

The power and nature of the large.

[When the Jiva's head (mind) joins the feet of the Jnani in the Heart (Self),

the Jivatma (individual self) becomes the Paramatma (Supreme Self)]

The Garland of Guru's sayings or Guru Vachaka Kovai is by Sri Muruganar, who

before and after his Self Realisation, through Sri Bhagavan's Grace, recorded

Ramana's utterances and set them into Tamil verse.

This poetic translation by Prof. Swaminathan is in free verse, and published by

Ramanasramam.
