51. THE HEART

V. 256

 

The true Heart,

Indefinable,

As this or That,

Is as it were the mirror

Wherein all things appear.

 

The mere " I AM " ,

Self-shining being,

Pure awareness,

space supreme,

Perfect wholeness,

Primal stillness.

 

 

 

The Garland of Guru's Sayings or Guru Vachaka Kovai is by Sri Muruganar, who

before and after his Self Realisation, through Sri Bhagavan's Grace, recorded

Sri Ramana's utterances and set them into Tamil verse. This poetic translation

by Prof. Swaminathan is in free verse form, and is published by Ramanasramam.
