It was done through some automatic program. They do it with a lot of other list groups. They do it to increase traffic to their site so they can sell more products. It is a business and ethical behavior is not a primary consideration. The link to their site is. http://www.indiadivine.org/audarya/ I believe they stopped doing it after the list members started openly protesting in their messages to the list. Unfortunately, nothing is really private on the Internet anymore. Anyone can join any list and start copying and stealing messages. At a practical level, it is now well accepted that there is little privacy when we write messages to any list on the Internet.
