Guest guest
Sri Ramakrishna's favourite Poet. I Drink No Ordinary Wine, I drink no ordinary wine, but Wine of Everlasting Bliss, As I repeat my Mother Kali's name; It so intoxicates my mind that people take me to be drunk! First my guru gives molasses for the making of the Wine; My longing is the ferment to transform it. Knowledge, the maker of the Wine, prepares it for me then; And when it is done, my mind imbibes it from the bottle of the mantra, Taking the Mother's name to make it pure. Drink of this Wine, says Ramprasad, and the four fruits of life are yours. RAMPRASAD
Guest guest
Dear Alan , Intoxicating poem .. reminds me of an interesting episode in Sage Ramakrishna's life.. One day the great Sage after a vision of Kali was deep in spiritual ecstasy and was literally dancing on the road with joy.. he saw a man who was fully drunk and in a very unstable condition..The sage thought here is a man who is also drunk with ecstatsy of the divine mother's love as am.. The drunkard thought here is another poor drunk like me .. both of them embraced warmly and continued to dance in joy oblivious of their surrounding !! love ramesh --- On Fri, 4/3/09, alanadamsjacobs <alanadamsjacobs wrote: alanadamsjacobs <alanadamsjacobs Re: POEMS OF RAMPRASAD 3 Date: Friday, April 3, 2009, 9:02 PM Sri Ramakrishna' s favourite Poet.I Drink No Ordinary Wine, I drink no ordinary wine, but Wine of Everlasting Bliss,As I repeat my Mother Kali's name;It so intoxicates my mind that people take me to be drunk!First my guru gives molasses for the making of the Wine;My longing is the ferment to transform it.Knowledge, the maker of the Wine, prepares it for me then; And when it is done,my mind imbibes it from the bottle of the mantra,Taking the Mother's name to make it pure.Drink of this Wine, says Ramprasad, and the four fruits of life are yours.RAMPRASAD
