Guest guest
One day Ananda, who had been thinking deeply about things for a while, turned to the Buddha and exclaimed: "Lord, I've been thinking- spiritual friendship is at least half of the spiritual life!" The Buddha replied: "Say not so, Ananda, say not so. Spiritual friendship is the whole of the spiritual life!" Guest guest
Dear Raju garu.. Yes I agree .. Since Buddha himself was a self realised master he could say that.. That said .. Satsangh or spiritual friendship is an integral and very important part of spiritual life since we may not be that fortunate enough to be so close to a Master physically .. And HIS OMNIPRESENT GRACE makes up for what we appear to lack ! love ramesh --- On Thu, 4/16/09, drrajunsp <drrajunsp wrote: drrajunsp <drrajunsp Re: Spiritual Friendship Date: Thursday, April 16, 2009, 6:50 PM Dr.Raju wrote:Dear Rmesh garu,I feel that probably Buddha means friendship witha realised master(Maitreya Bhavana) is whole of spiritual life. , ramesh chivukula <ramesh_chiv@ ...> wrote:>> One day Ananda, who had been thinking deeply about things for a while, turned to the Buddha and exclaimed: > "Lord, I've been thinking- spiritual friendship is at least half of the spiritual life!" > The Buddha replied: "Say not so, Ananda, say not so. Friends In all this Boundless Incomparable creation There is No greater treasure Then friends. True friendship is incalculable Far beyond the value Of greatest riches. To bind one free man With love without conditions Is incomparably superior To setting free A thousand Slaves. in love, yosy (friend of friends) > > > <%40>, ramesh chivukula > <ramesh_chiv wrote: > > > > One day Ananda, who had been thinking deeply about things for a > while, turned to the Buddha and exclaimed: > > " Lord, I've been thinking- spiritual friendship is at least half of > the spiritual life!
