[5] The Soul that rises with us, our life's Star, (from Ode. Intimations of Immortality)

By William Wordsworth(1770 - 1850)

The Soul that rises with us, our life's Star, Hath had elsewhere its setting, And cometh from afar: Not in entire forgetfulness, And not in utter nakedness,But trailing clouds of glory do we come From God, who is our home.

Thought for the Day:

Continuously ask: What is right here? What is this sensation? This emotion? This thought? This experience? Then ask: Who is experiencing it?

Hi Alan -I first heard this verse by Wordsworth in a recorded reading by the poet David Whyte. I still hear it in Whyte's voice today. It doesn't take much to get those last two lines dancing through my mind...But trailing clouds of glory do we comeFrom God, who is our home.Have a beautiful day!Ivan
