Verse 186: As the regulating block is necessary for the (proper) running of a

(temple) car, so afflictions are necessary to sadhakas (spiritual seekers) for

success in practice. Foot note(27)

 

(27) The car of a (Hindu) temple made in the traditional way is controlled in

its course and prevented from going aside, by the occasional use of blocks of

wood to check the wheels.
