That is why Lord Jesus said .. It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.

 

Wealth ( especially ill gotten ) corrupts. Power corrupts absolutely. These are well known cliches , but when under the clutches of maya , these are easily over looked and ignored.

Sage Ramakrishna always used to express his disgust over man's craving for gold.

This where Lord Budhha's advice for the middle path is most useful.
